Description
This 50 minute class would look at period pictures of beaded jewelry and embroidery. Period bead embroidery stitches and jewelry techniques will be demonstrated and instructions will be provided to each student. Students will also learn how to create their own patterns from period pictures. Instructions will be provided. The list of supplies should be items that students would usually have on hand or would be able to access from a craft store. There is no age or class size limit. Supply List: 2 big eye needles, cotton or silk beading thread size D/E or F (nylon thread is also ok to use), clam shell beadtips, crimp beads, hook-eye clasp, a piece of cotton fabric, embroidery hoop, beads (3mm-8mm round glass beads, rice shaped beads, rectangular or square beads, pearls, biconal), 2 needle nosed pliers, 1 round nosed pliers, 1 awl, 1 bead board. Students should be at least 10 years old or above. No class size limit.
