For the beginner or less experienced brewer. This class is an overview of the basic process involved and the equipment and ingredients you need to brew each of the categories of beverage commonly found in an Atlantian/SCA brewing competition: beer, mead, wine, cordials, vinegar, and non-alcoholics. While we will talk about modern techniques and tools, the emphasis will be on replicating period beverages as best we can. We will discuss period sources most accessible for the beginner or newer brewer, and some of the common problems encountered using period sources. Please note that as this is a dry site there will be no taste testing or sampling!
