Description
This class is designed for those who want to make some easy period garb. Basic Viking clothing is great because is looks great, is easy to put on and work in. Embellishments can be simple or complex based on taste and skill. For men and women, we will draft a pattern for an undertunic and then for the women, we will also draft a pattern for the overdress. Class will also include discussion and demonstration of constructing the ever important bead strands for the women to be worn on the dress. Participants will need to bring pencil, scissors, tape measure and paper for drafting pattern or TruGrid pattern fabric. Pattern fabric will be available for purchase at cost. You may bring fabric (preferably linen or wool) and pin and cut out your pattern. If you choose to bring fabric, you will need 3.5 to 4 yards for the undertunic and 2 yards for the apron dress. For men, only 2.5 to 3 yards will be needed for the tunic. Bring lots and lots of pins if you are bringing fabric.
