Description
The Tarim Basin (now in the far western part of China) was the ""crossroads of the world"" for a large part of SCA history, a place where travelers and goods from East and West mingled. This class will examine the history of this fascinating and archeologically-rich area, including several of the kingdoms/states that formed major stops along the ""Silk Roads"". We will explore what the people of Turfan, Kucha, Khotan and other such places left behind, and how they lived their (surprisingly cosmopolitan) lives.
