Description
Interested in knitting, but don't know how to start? The basic five-needle knitting stitch is the foundation of socks, gloves, hats, and purses from at least 1400 onwards. Learn the basics of this easy technique, and how to create your own patterns! Please bring a set of five #8 or #9 needles and a ball of yarn. Class will include casting on, casting off, knitting and purling, measuring for patterns, and basics of glove and sock-making. Handout, covering both instructions and historical examples, $2.
