Description
"This class is broken into two parts drum basics for beginners and application. Skill level 0-3 out of 10. Part One: We will learn some basic rhythms (Beladi, Masmoudi, Saidi, Ayub) and structure. Anatomy of a handdrum. Techniques on getting a clean sound. We will also touch on basics for playing well with others, (joining in the rhythm, volume, etc), visual cues, and playing for dancers. Get ready, because once you're hooked on doumbek you'll want a haflah with dancers every weekend! Bring a doumbek if you have one, but any drum will work. I will be passing along solid advice Ive gleaned from other great drummers and musicians."
