Description
"The Anglo-Saxons called it magic. Today, we call it medicine. Using plants to heal wounds and illnesses goes back to even before the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons! In this herbalism class, find out what was “magic” and what was medicine; what is history and what is myth. Would a woman really be burned at the stake for giving someone white willow bark for a headache? Did witches really use lotion by the fire to make them fly?! Come with your questions and listening ears, and learn about the magical history of herbalism in the Middle Ages. *Please Note: We will be making a hands-on project in class with materials provided. Please direct any allergy concerns to Esa via her email esaingheandonnchaidh[at]yahoo[dot]com. Common allergens will be avoided, and special requests will be given best efforts to address, but promises cannot be made. Everyone takes responsibility for their own health when they attend the herbalism class. Class limit does not include parents or guardians who would like to accompany their youth to the Page's Academy. It is kindly requested they not make their own craft project to save materials for the pages. Donations accepted to offset cost of materials provided for the craft project."
