Description
"Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese form of braid-making. Kumi himo is Japanese for “Gathered Thread”. The spiral braid made with this art was (and is) done using a tool called a marudai. In modern times, we have a new tool called a kumihimo disk, which is portable and inexpensive. The resulting cords may be used for necklaces, laces to tie clothing, trim, and similar things. Attendees will receive a kit: round kumihimo disk, weight, thread for a bracelet, instructions. Using the kit, we will learn the basic spiral braid as done on a kumihimo disk. "
