"This class will guide students through the process of measuring a partner (we'll pair up in the class) to create a personalized/custom pattern for a basic tunic using the Elizabethan Smock Pattern Generator created by Drea Lead (Leed, Drea. The Elizabethan Costuming Page (http://www.elizabethancostume.net/). ©1997-2010). The tunic is suitable for basic garb in a variety of time periods and locations and is constructed nearly completely with straight seams, making it an easy yet comfortable and period appropriate option for basic beginners garb.
Participants should bring 2-3 yards of plain muslin fabric *OR* the class fee to cover the cost of fabric; fabric provided for the fee will be muslin suitable for creating a re-usable pattern. If possible, participants should also bring a cloth tape measure and a pair of sharp scissors (tape measures and scissors will be shared among attendees). Participants may either bring materials noted *OR* bring the fee and use materials provided."
