Description
The SCA is a unique organization that can sometimes present challenges as we attempt to work together to follow the Dream. Whether one is an officeholder, a Peer, someone in an apprenticeship or a Squire, or simply a Gentle who steps up to volunteer, one may be faced with the challenges inherent in leading others. This class is a student-led, discussion- and scenario-based program of instruction in which small groups are presented with realistic, theoretical leadership challenges. Students will work together to devise solutions, which they will share with the rest of the class. This will provide interested persons the ability to work through problems and solutions in a classroom-based setting and gain insight and leadership tools that they can put into practice in their SCA life. After discussion, the instructor will link each scenario to further reading in leadership and management theory, and will provide a handout with the scenarios and a reading list for further learning.
