Description
Looking for an authentic, easy-to-make and well-fitting pair of late-period pants? This workshop will demonstrate how to create a custom set of bara measurement tapes and how to use them to draft a custom-fitted pattern for a pair of venetians, using the proportional drafting method. No math required! The first hour will be spent making the tapes and explaining their use, with demonstrations. The second hour will be spent drafting out the actual venetians pattern. If you have already a set of bara tapes, you can attend just the second hour. The class is limited to 10 people due to the space needed for drafting patterns, but others feel free to come and watch if they wish. Supplies to bring: A pen for marking your tape. All other supplies (pattern paper, material for bara tapes, scissors, etc) will be provided. If you want to make a venetians pattern for someone other than yourself, you'll need to measure three measurements ahead of time: waist measurement, hip measurement and height.
