Description
"…unless sounds are held by the memory of man, they perish, because they cannot be written down." – Isidore of Seville, music scholar, 7th century. The language of music, i.e., music notation, has existed and evolved from ancient times. In this one-hour class, you will learn about its evolution with a focus on the Middle Ages. You will need the class handout in order to make sense of the class! It can be found here: https://bit.ly/3dkiVjV or in the Classes section of my website: www.musicacodex.com The class will be taught on Zoom and will not be recorded.
