Description
This class is heavily inspired by the work of Edward Johnston as he was working to recreate medieval calligraphy in the early 20th Century. It will evaluate proportions and forms which make particular scripts fit together. This class will be useful to beginners who begin better with conceptual information before going hands on, or for more experienced calligraphers who want to up their game. Mathais studied Philosophy in college and found that electing to fill as many of his electives as possible with the study of calligraphy was a wonderful mental break to those intellectual rigors. This session is an adaptation of the introductory courses he took. This session will be recorded.
