Description
Head coverings were worn throughout time, and some are much more simple to make than they appear. This class will provide an overview of the construction of a 15th century “Winged Cap,” or "Tailed Coif." Thanks to the online format, I do not plan on anyone finishing a cap in class, but will demonstrate various stages of construction so you can see how the cap comes together. I sew this cap entirely by hand, so familiarity with hand stitching is really the only pre-req. This cap can be seen in a few places: http://corsair.themorgan.org/vwebv/holdingsInfo?bibId=252796 http://www.larchetipo.com/2001/feb01/immagine.htm https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b8427253m/f125.item
