Description
This class will look at period pictures of beaded jewelry using a ladder style technique and variations. Students will also look at other uses of this technique such as headpieces and trim on costumes. Students will also learn how to create their own patterns from period pictures. Instructions will be provided. The list of supplies should be items that students would usually have on hand or would be able to access from a craft store. Supply List: 2 big eye needles, cotton or silk beading thread size D/E or F (nylon thread is also ok to use), clam shell beadtips, crimp beads, hook-eye clasp, beads (3mm-8mm round glass beads, rice shaped beads, rectangular or square beads, pearls, biconal), 2 needle nosed pliers, 1 round nosed pliers, 1 awl, 1 bead board.
