Description
This class will discuss the history of Black Hours style scrolls as well as how to recreate with modern materials. For the hands on portion students are encouraged to have if they wish to work along rather than watch. Black watercolor paper of your choice for the substrate. A sienna colored chalk pastel for making a transfer if they do not have Saral wax free transfer paper. Brushes for painting and a dip pen for calligraphy, Paints (Ultramarine, either a sap or chromium green, red in either alizarin crimson or a cadmium, a pale cadmium yellow, and preferably a zinc or permanent white. dip pens if they have them.
