The Romans were well aware that they would die, and even prepared their tombs before their death. They practiced "memento mori," a Latin phrase that means "remember that you will die" and meant to remind you of your own mortality, and of the brevity and fragility of human life. In this class we will cover what happened to the body at the time of death and the funeral rites that took place in Ancient Rome. NOT Recorded. |
