Writing a More Effective Award Recommendation
Olivier de Bayonne
Instructor's Kingdom: Atlantia, Time Zone: EST
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
In this class, we’ll discuss the "award recommendation" genre--what it is, who reads it and how they read it, and then how to write one that, hopefully, communicates effectively what we want it to. While the award recommendation is an incredibly common genre in the SCA, it’s also a kind of writing that can, for some, feel intimidating, overwhelming, or otherwise impossible to tackle. As we learn more about the award recommendation genre, we’ll look at some hypothetical examples of recommendations and discuss how they might be improved further. Then, we’ll consider some strategies for drafting and revising more effective letters of our own.
This class will NOT be recorded.
