Description
Enameling is the art of fusing glass over metal into works of art. This class is pictorial overview of enameled objects in the SCA time period. We'll cover works from Celtic Britain, ancient Greece, Byzantium, France, Christian and Muslim Spain, Italy, Kievan Russia and Fatimid Egypt. You'll see examples of cloisonné, champlevé, émail de plique, plique-à-jour and basse-taille. I intend to record the course. Additional documents will be placed there after class. I recommend you print the Definition of Terms document and keep it by your side during class.
