Description
Byzantine bookbindings are defined less by a geographical area and more by certain characteristics of the bindings themselves. One such characteristic will be explored in this class: the rather unique way the gatherings are sewn together and to the covers. Making a book entirely in the Byzantine style is beyond the scope of a University class but by the end of this class, you’ll have a blank journal you can use for whatever you fancy. Materials required are listed here (and will require some preparation in advance): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ceiBo4f2n2FwqPMFoQaifcjeNgu-1TZtsRsWGhy-lIQ/edit?usp=sharing Class will not be recorded.
