Description
Want to learn how to make dyes "stay" on fibers? Planning on taking the Introduction to Natural Dyes class in the afternoon and want to dye your own yarns? This is the class for you! Mordants are the chemical preparation needed to make the dye stick. We'll cover several of the best techniques to prepare Wool, silk, cotton and linen, while preparing fibers for later dyeing. Instructors will provide fibers we are mordanting to be used in later dyeing classes. If you wish to bring your own fibers, please have yarns tied in loose skeins. *Note All dye classes are messy, attendees are encouraged to bring long latex gloves and wear clothes they don't mind messing up.
