Description
Scouting out the elusive period bead-this class provides a brief history of beadwork and what types of bead, beadwork, jewelry and sources for documentation of SCA period beadwork. Did you know the scent of burning amber was considered by the Greeks to be soothing to a woman in labor or that a moss agate is recommended to help have a plentiful crop or that an elixer of vinegar and Bloodstone to cure all ills? Come learn some of the superstitions and belief behind different precious and semiprecious stone. This update includes recent articles, recent archaeological finds, and finds from my recent trip to Memphis.
