Description
This class will look at several of the highly-decorated pottery traditions in Europe c.450-700 CE, particularly the styles found in Anglian/Saxon Britain, Migration Era/Vendel Period Scandinavia, and the Langobardic wares from Pannonia and northern Italy. We will discuss manufacturing methods, decorative motifs and styles, and methods for reproducing the stamping dies used to decorate the pots.
