Description
The School of Notre Dame in Paris was the center of musical innovation in the 13th century. One of these innovations was the motet. The motet became a canvas for experimentation and went on to become the dominate musical form of the 13th and 14th century. In this class we will explore the origins, characteristics, and notation of the 13th century motet.
