Description
In this class, Esa will discuss techniques for setting and maintaining healthy boundaries for folks who support non profit and volunteer organizations. Esa started her mundane career journey in non profit organizations where her many roles included volunteer recruitment, retention, and coordination. The passion and empathy dynamics of supporting an organization with your unpaid labor has unique challenges. Let’s discuss those challenges, and explore techniques for establishing and maintaining your own microculture of boundaries, guard rails, and self care. Class topics will include: Establishing boundaries and guard rails, Saying no, Saying yes!, Triage, What it means to “put your own oxygen mask on first,” Delegating vs Dumping, Calling people in, Recognizing burn out culture, and Being kind to ourselves.
