Come learn the basics of sewing a three-pouch German bag that is appropriate for a 16th century German peasant garb. This will be a cloth bag with three pouchlets. You will receive a pattern and materials for free in exchange for being a student at this test-teaching. You won't finish the bag in class but you will have the knowledge to finish it on your own. At a later date, you'll be able to make one from leather on your own. Class limit 5. Basic sewing skills required.
What do we know about period wines? How do we choose modern wines that could be appropriate for our personas? This class will be a discussion and tasting of more than a dozen wines appropriate for medieval personas and will include advice on general characteristics to look for when shopping for your persona. Included will be wines from Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, and Germany, some of which would have been consumed by the locals, and some of which would have been exported to the courts of nobility across the continent. A few of these wines are virtually unchanged since the Middle Ages.
