Documentation on and descriptions of games in general will be supplied, with closer focus on several popular board-games with the rules and descriptions as take-homes, and game-boards for the duration of the class.

This class is for those who are new to scribal work or want to know how to get started.

This is the required course to become warranted as an Atlantian Minister of the Lists. We’ll cover general procedures, forms, event prep, reports, and common issues encountered at the MoL tables.

The basic requirement class for Target Archery Marshals in training, and for active marshals renewing their warrants. Covers safety rules, equipment inspection procedures, target archery marshal administrative requirements, etc.

The class will break up into several groups where each group will focus on a game of choice and learn how to play it. If some prefer, a discussion group and/or coaching on quick-made cloth boards may also take place at the same time. Bring your own boards if you wish.

Explore with me the unsupposing dumpling. Step away from the Shu mai and the chicken and dumplings! Learn a bit of history and the fact that not all dumplings came from China. Equipment to bring: Paper and pen, and either an apron or ""messy garb"" (not for someone in fancy garb) Age limit: Page and Up (7+)

Starting from a piece of a tree, we will use period tools and techniques to create wing dividers. This will mainly be a demonstration class, with students handling only certain tools. How did we get to where we are today? – A speed survey of 45 five years of Society History.

This class will introduce newcomers to the SCA and/or to camping. It will give examples of period looking tents, period tents, safety, cooking, and how to make camping easier and manageable.

Come learn some history of the lucet, then see how it is done. At least half of the class will be devoted to participants working on individual cords with supervision and advise on how to better perfect their techniques. If you cannot provide your own lucet, let me know so I can obtain one.

This class talks about how a warming period during the middle ages, caused the ice to disappear around Greenland and Iceland and brought colonization all the way to North America.

This class will center around basic equipment and skills needed to survive and feed yourself/your camp at a War event.

How to cultivate, harvest and prepare herbs for home use.

Kumihimo is a Japanese braiding technique that is easy to learn and results in a strong braid. In this hands-on class you will learn to do kumihimo on a foam disk, which is very portable.

This class is for newcomers, people returning to the SCA, and for anyone curious as to how newcomers see the SCA. I have been in the SCA for less than a year, and I have done a lot from attending wars, competing in A&S competitions, joining a household, being active in 2 guilds, being the Primary Branch herald of my canton, rapier fighting, heavy armor fighting, brewing, sewing garb, cooking for feasts, period games, participating in court, etc . . . In hindsight, there are things I wish I had done differently. I would like to lead a discussion where newcomers can ask me questions and I can use my first hand experience to answer their questions. I will have a copy of the new Known World Handbook for reference. I also encourage anyone to come that wants to share stories or their experience. Several people have asked me about how they can make the SCA more inviting to newcomers, and this class is their chance to get some answers.

The Central Massif region of France is a treasure trove of Romanesque architecture. Unique facades and columns capped by stone carvings are only half the picture we are normally aware of. Time, war, weather and neglect have allowed some of these carvings to become plain stone, however some places in Auvergne show us a glimpse of the true glory that once was....
